Boys Academy
The academy is for kids aged from 5 yrs (end of year 1). The aim of the academy is to teach kids the basics of football with a big emphasis on fun. They will learn about co-ordination, balance, teamwork, how to control a football, the basic rules of the game and the layout of the pitch.
The academy takes place at the memorial playing fields (Donkey Park) Necton street syston, Click here for a map. Refreshments are available to purchase from the club house. The academy trains on a Saturday morning from 10:00-11:30am.
The academy training sessions is split up into three main sections:
- A “warm up” to get the kids moving and warm up their muscles
- Games/Drills – 10-15 minutes games which teach the kids one of the key elements of ball control (e.g. passing, shooting, dribbling, moving)
- Mini matches – we finish the session with some short matches to give the kids an opportunity to put into practise the things they have learned during the training session
The academy coaches are CRB checked, and all FA qualified coaches and between them hold FA Level 1, Level 2 Level 3/UEFA B and Level 2 Goalkeeping coaching awards. Syston Town Juniors FC is a Charter Standard Club.
